Magicians' string and a candle...

Magician’s string, known also as spider string, magician invisible string and invisible thread is an incredibly thin thread that for all intents and purposes (if you get distance and lighting correct) appears invisible (if you’ll pardon the misnomer). On most video, the thread also ‘disappears’ – unless of course you get a glint of light if you get the angle wrong.

A couple of weeks ago, ‘Candlegate’ struck the paranormal Youtube Community. The debunking community spent a long time trying to debunk or explain a candle seemingly moving by itself across a table on a well known Youtube paranormal channel.

In my experiment, the candle (battery-powered as the venue wouldn’t have been happy with an actual lit candle…) is being pulled across the table by magician’s string… see what you think!
